The NYSCADV Training Project
NYSCADV offers a comprehensive Training Project which is funded by the
Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The primary goal of the project is
to increase the capacity of the over one hundred licensed and approved
domestic violence programs in New York State. NYSCADV trainings are developed
to provide attendees the tools to lead in their communities, hone advocacy
skills, collaborate effectively to improve coordination of services to
survivors of domestic violence, build cultural competency within an
anti-oppression framework, and privilege survivor safety and offender
accountability.
In 2010, the Coalition training project will collaborate
individually with each regional representative to provide
a one-day training that is customized to meet the
unique needs of each licensed and approved
domestic violence programs within New York State’s nine regions.
We encourage programs to reach out to your NYSCADV regional
representative as this regional training circuit is
planned.
In addition, NYSCADV will continue to provide in-person
training on core services, including our Advocacy
Intensive series and our signature “Principles for
Practice” training. NYSCADV will provide an array of
distance learning opportunities via webinar format.
