Economic Empowerment Summit
Join us May 28 and 29, 2025, in Queensbury, NY, for our second annual Economic Empowerment Summit, where we explore economic justice as a tool for survivors to rebuild independence and financial security after abuse. The summit will focus on providing advocates with skills and tools to equip survivors with tools for economic independence, workforce development and the complex interplay between financial and mental well-being.

As the school year approaches, parents and educators worldwide are gearing up for another transition amidst ongoing uncertainties. To aid in the preparations for back to school, NYSCADV (New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence) is pleased to present a 3 part webinar training series focusing on parent engagement strategies for back to school season. Sessions within the training series will offer valuable support for parents and teachers, enabling them to engage with children, teens, and young adults in discussions about healthy relationships during various life transitions.

We are pleased to announce that Don McPherson Enterprises, in collaboration with the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, is launching ASPIRE New York! A year-long campaign to engage men and boys commencing with a conference in Syracuse, NY.

Intimate partner violence is, indeed, preventable. That is the vision and the purpose of NYSCADV's Primary Prevention Project - to identify and promote strategies that can stop violence before it starts. As part of this project NYSCADV annually hosts a Primary Prevention Summit. Attendees of this summit have the opportunity to learn about innovative community-based prevention strategies that are underway at the local, state, and national levels. Presentations and discussions led by national and state-level experts include: strategies for effective social marketing campaigns, as well as working with college campuses, schools, and workplaces.

NYSCADV is participating in a national project called "Restoryation", that will use storytelling as a way to understand the collective experience of domestic violence service providers of the past few years. The covid-19 pandemic affected advocates across the state in a myriad of ways; New York State has a valuable story to add to this national project that will analyze and advocate for how covid-19 has affected domestic violence advocacy.
