Plenary 1: SHINE Together: Safety and Healing in Networks of Equity
Speaker: Lisa Fujie Parks, Associate Program Director; Prevention Institute
Plenary Description: We foster safety and healing in our communities by investing in each other and building powerful, equitable networks. Lisa Fujie Parks is thrilled to return to New York State, where she spent much of her childhood, to share stories with the state’s wonderful people and diverse networks working to heal from and prevent domestic violence. She will share stories and lessons from her personal and professional journey and many partnerships promoting safe relationships and health equity and preventing domestic violence. She hopes she will inspire participants to build collective power and shine together.

Plenary 3: The Future Needs to Hold Us Up
Speaker Bio: Ponny White, Girls for Gender Equity
Plenary Description: We are often told that "the future is women," that "the future is Black," the future is "Black women." Yet we often neglect to take preemptive measures to facilitate a future where Black girls and Black gender nonconforming youth can thrive, can lead, can learn, and can receive systemic and community protections. In this speech, Ponny White challenges audiences to start building the foundation of a future that can hold us all.

Workshop 1: Our collective stories: community narratives for safety, equity, healing, and joy
Speaker: Lisa Fujie Parks, Prevention Institute
Description: This workshop will explore the power of community narratives and collective stories. Participants will reflect on the stories we tell that shape our and our community members’ understanding of and approach to preventing domestic violence. We will brainstorm and practice telling stories from our personal and professional lives that affirm collective responsibility and possibilities for safety, equity, healing, and joy.

Workshop 3: Community Engagement and Healing Work in Prevention

Description: Explore tools and strategies for engaging cis-men and boys on the land, and reconnecting them with life and nature as a strategy for primary prevention. -
Workshop 4: Migrant Worker Justice and Violence Prevention

Description: Presentation on the intersection between migrant worker justice and economic justice and the prevention of sexual violence and intimate partner violence. -
Workshop 5: Community Centered Evaluation
Speaker: Maya Pilgrim, Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA)
Description: Evaluation is about accountability and continuous learning and improvement. In this session, we will discuss how we are most accountable to our communities and how to center them in our evaluative and learning practices. We'll commiserate around the challenges, and talk about effective evaluation practices and principles that enhance relationships, affirm culture, and steward trauma.

Workshop 8: Following Their Lead: Creating Student-Run Support Groups and Facilitating Authenticity
Speaker: Chris Kosakowski, OVW Campus Grant Project Director and Coordinator of Student Inclusion Initiatives for SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry
Description: What do you do when a student has a really great idea to you but you had no idea how to make it happen? What does it really mean to let student survivors have autonomy over their experience? How can you bring your whole self into your presentations and workshops? This session is designed to answer these questions and more, through the lens of authenticity. Chris will discuss the development and creation of a student-run support group on a campus, the value of empowering students in the process, and the importance of embracing your authentic self into your facilitation style.
