Virtual Training: Addressing Trauma in DV/SA Investigation & Prosecutions
This training will address how victims' trauma affects the response, investigation, and prosecution of domestic violence and sexual assault. After a review of how the brain and body react to trauma and the impact of trauma on memory, the presenters will provide guidance for developing trauma-informed interview strategies that capture the evidence necessary to enable a successful prosecution, as well as share prosecution strategies to overcome common challenges, such as recanting or unavailable victims.
