Ujima, Inc: The National Center on Violence Against Women in the Black Community will present a two-part webinar to explore what it means to serve and protect Black women.
Part 1
The first part of the webinar will ground us in the language of police reform. Panelists will articulate the differences between the various police reform ideologies (Defund, Abolish, Reform, and Dismantle) and the potential outcomes for Black women survivors. Panelists will set the stage for part two, by also delving into the potential impacts that police reform could have for not only the survivor community but for communities at-large.
Objectives:

1) To learn community engagement strategies and best practices when working with survivors within the Black community.
2) To delve into the concepts of health and justice as they relate to Black women's experiences with violence.
3) To demystify the language and ideologies around potential police reform.
