Back to School: A Conversation about Engaging Parents
Calling all Prevention Educators! Join NYSCADV’s Prevention Team and Rus Irvin Funk for “Back to School: A Conversation about Engaging Parents” on September 30 from 1-2:30 PM
The school year is underway, and parents worldwide are helping their children through yet another transition amid ongoing uncertainty about what the school year will bring, both academically and socially. NYSCADV invites Prevention Educators to join us to discuss a variety of approaches for engaging parents. As part of our Because We’re Dads initiative, we’ll be spotlighting the role of dads and male-identified caregivers play. In this 90-minute session, NYSCADV will introduce resources, including our updated Back to School Toolkit and a compendium of Conversation Starters for parents looking for some guidance on how to talk with their children about having healthy relationships.
Who should attend?
New York State Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention Educators & Advocates. Including but not limited to programs that are licensed by the NYS Office for Children and Family Services or have local NY Department of Social Services contracts to provide domestic violence services, either residential or nonresidential.
