Explore existing models, engage with creators in discussions about the nuts and bolts of building community-based mental health crisis response and potential pitfalls, and learn more about the federal CAHOOTS Act, mental health crisis response funds available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and 988 hotlines. Presenters include Mental Health First, CAHOOTS, & Denver STAR.
Day 2: November 18, 3-6 PM ET
What new models of non-police mental health crisis response are emerging? How are organizers moving campaigns for community-based crisis response and prevention locally? Engage with organizers, and join discussions on program design, community engagement, disability justice, and how we can support people on the ground right now.
