Two years ago this June, in the early months of the pandemic, Stuart Kaufman, Esq. conducted the first technical assistance webinar for the members of the NY Crime Victims Legal Network where he educated us about Evictions During the Pandemic. We are delighted to have him back to provide an update on evictions and the remaining eviction protections after the end of the moratorium.

This webinar is a review of housing law with a focus on the remaining eviction protections in place at this point in the pandemic. It includes a review of:

(a) eviction matters, with a highlight on the different types of evictions and stages of the eviction proceedings;
(b) the most impactful changes from the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act (HSTPA), which passed in June of 2019;
(c) the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), the primary remaining eviction protection in place at this time; and
(d) domestic violence and other housing protections.

Participants are encouraged to submit questions during the registration process.

Presenter:
Stuart Kaufman, Senior Attorney, Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, Inc.
