Paws for a Purpose - a community dog walk for domestic violence awareness, RESTORE

Domestic violence affects many in our community. An average of 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men will experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetime. The impacts of domestic violence include injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, and use of victim services. Many survivors with pets delay leaving a dangerous home due to fear for their animals’ safety. Shelters that offer assistance and safety to survivors and their pets are available and growing on a national level. We ask for your collaboration as we host a community event to raise awareness of RESTORE services, other resources for pet owners, and for Domestic Violence Awareness month, recognized nationally every October. Paws for a Cause would be held on Saturday, October 7 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., rain or shine. RESTORE and partnering Domestic Violence Programs, as well as Local Animal Shelters and Vendors will table and provide education/resources/goods to the community. This event would be a non-alcoholic function and would be welcome for all ages of the community to attend.

Advanced registration is not required.
