National LGBTQ Institute on Intimate Partner Violence- We Keep Each Other Safe: Community Models for Responding to Domestic Violence
Utilizing community-oriented models of care inspired by the restorative justice movement, participants will build skills and knowledge to respond to domestic violence. LGBTQ+ survivors are most likely to turn to their support networks in the aftermath of violence, not service providers. It is critical that our interventions to domestic violence mirror this reality, and we invest in community power to protect, support, and uplift survivors in their healing and safety processes.
